"Jolene" by Limberlost

When I received Limberlost’s latest single “Jolene” I thought I knew what I was getting: A good song! Little did I know, Limberlost had a trick up their sleeve. And it was a treat.
Krystle Pyette (Best Female Vocalist 2019 BMA) has her most soulful vocal performance to date. It gave me chills on more than one occasion. The emotion she conveys while she pleads with “Jolene” to “not take her man”. Is not only touching, but it is as if you are feeling her pain in your own soul. Brittney Lauren’s accompanying vocals add another layer of emotion to this amazing track.
Ricky Dunn (Guitar) adds some incredibly tasteful licks throughout the piece, that bring another dimension of the song to life.
From the mellow piano/guitar intro right through to the beer bottle ending. Limberlost proves why they have one of the best rhythm sections (Mike Burt(Drums) Ben Beman (Bass) Anthony Ciarochi (Keyboards)) the Emerald City has ever produced.
Rarely does a remake improve on the original. But in this case, Limberlost delivers a soul grabbing one of a kind take on this classic Dolly Parton hit. Proving once again, they’re not just a Good Rock Band. They have transformed themselves into Seattle Premiere Rock band.
